Father and Son Brutally Murdered in Tongi, Police Launch Investigation

A tragic incident has shocked residents of Tongi in Gazipur, where a father and his teenage son were brutally murdered. The case took place in the early hours of Sunday in the Dattapara Bonmala Primary School Road area, creating panic in the locality.

According to police, the victims were identified as Sohel Hossain (50) and his son Sakibur Rahman (17). Law enforcement officials quickly arrived at the scene, recovered the bodies, and sent them for autopsy. Investigators have also collected nearby CCTV footage as part of the ongoing probe.

Preliminary information suggests that Sakibur Rahman was a student at a local educational institution and also worked at a shopping mall. The family had been living in the area for a long time.

Family sources said that the elder son informed relatives about the killings over the phone before they arrived at the scene. Upon entering the house, they found the son’s body inside and the father’s body nearby.

Police stated that there were visible injury marks on the bodies, indicating that the killings may have been premeditated. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the crime.

One family member has been detained for questioning in connection with the incident. Police said further details cannot be disclosed at this stage due to the ongoing investigation.

The incident has created fear among local residents. Law enforcement agencies have assured that those responsible will be identified and brought to justice as quickly as possible.
