Man Detained in Siddhirganj Over Alleged Misconduct with Two Children

Police have detained a man named Md. Harun Mia (52) in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, following allegations of inappropriate behavior involving two children. He was detained around 3:00 AM on Wednesday night (April 15) from the Mizmizi Chowdhuripara area under Ward No. 2 of Narayanganj City Corporation.

The matter was confirmed on Thursday (April 16) by Siddhirganj Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Mizanur Rahman.

According to police, although Harun Mia’s permanent residence is in Chandpur district, he had been living in a rented house in Siddhirganj.

Local sources said that on Wednesday afternoon, the two children entered his room while playing. He allegedly locked the door and attempted to engage in inappropriate conduct with them. Hearing the children’s screams, family members rushed to the scene, rescued them, and later informed the police.

Sub-Inspector Ataur Rahman of Siddhirganj Police Station stated that the incident is under investigation. The accused has been detained and is being questioned, and necessary legal action will be taken after verification of the facts.

Police officials said the matter is being taken seriously, and legal procedures are being followed.
