The update was confirmed on Saturday by a reliable source from the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, prompting fresh discussions among students and parents regarding preparation timelines.
Each year, approximately 1.2 to 1.3 million students sit for the HSC and equivalent examinations, making it one of the most significant milestones in the country’s academic system. Preparations for the exams typically span several months, with students intensively focusing on their studies.
Earlier, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee had tentatively scheduled the examinations to begin on 7 June. However, considering various practical factors, authorities later revised the decision and set the new date for early July.
Education experts say the extended timeline could benefit students by providing additional time for preparation. At the same time, they emphasise the importance of adjusting study plans to align with the updated schedule.
Experienced teachers advise students to make effective use of the extra time by following a structured routine, with particular attention to weaker subjects to improve overall performance.
Officials have indicated that a detailed examination routine will be published soon. Candidates have been advised to regularly follow official instructions and updates from the education boards.
Relevant authorities also stated that preparations for conducting the examinations are already underway, and the change in schedule is not expected to have any negative impact on the overall examination process.
