Jhaugaon, a remote village in Haluaghat upazila of Mymensingh, is not well connected and lacks many modern facilities. Despite these limitations, the small village has gained a unique identity—having produced 76 memorizers of the Holy Quran.
Stretching along both banks of the Kangsha River, the village had long remained neglected. Basic infrastructure such as paved roads, quality education systems, and urban amenities are still limited. However, these challenges have never diminished the community’s dedication and enthusiasm for religious education.
According to local residents, several madrasas in the village have played a key role behind this achievement. In particular, the institutions in Dubarpara and Bonpara have been instrumental in nurturing students from an early age to focus on Quranic studies. Through consistent effort and proper guidance, many of them eventually complete their memorization and earn the title of Hafiz.
Parents in the village say that despite financial hardships, they prioritize Quranic education for their children to ensure moral and ethical development. They believe that religious education helps shape their children into honest and responsible individuals.
Local scholars and community members believe that this success is not just an achievement for a single village but an inspiring example for the entire country. They emphasize that with proper guidance and collective effort, even remote areas can produce remarkable outcomes.
Residents have also called for government attention, stating that improvements in education and communication infrastructure could help the village produce even more Huffaz, scholars, and educated citizens in the future.
Overcoming all limitations, the story of Jhaugaon stands as a powerful message—that with strong determination, perseverance, and faith, even a small village can become a center of extraordinary potential.
